R.I.P. My Sweet Girl, Rosie

My sweet Rosie is at peace now.

I can't stop crying though.

I know it's for the best, but honestly it just sucks.

I've been through this before with my pets,

but it sure doesn't get any easier, does it?

Here is the last picture I took of her,

all time favorite thing to do.

Yep, she's still here.

Can hardly see or hear, but still

happy to sit on my trunk,

and soak up all the sunshine she can.

She is a constant reminder to me,

to enjoy each moment as it comes.

That's my girl.

Back To Normal, Kinda....

When I was a teen, I spent most weekends working at "The world's largest flea market" in Daytona. My parents had a space there, where they sold little critters that my mom had made by hand, (They were cotton pickin' adorable and sold like hot cakes!) and I worked for a lady in another space selling socks. (Don't laugh. I sold the heck out of those socks and made a small fortune!) I loved every minute of it. So, selling and markets have been in my blood for a long time. I kinda got it out of my system a bit with my purses, but I was still longing for something to full fill the creative side of me. Enter, Lucky Charmed. I already showed you bits and pieces and last Saturday was the final reveal! For the last couple of months, I've worked on the items to put in that booth. It took on a life of it's own and took over my living room. Seriously. Took it over. The dc kids kept asking me when I was going to clean my living room. I would tell them, Saturday, June 16th! I burned the midnight oil, (and sometimes the 1 and 2 A.M. oil!) and I worked on it when the dc kids were napping and any free time I had on the weekends. It was exhausting! But, I loved every minute. I also knew once I had my booth full, the hard part was over. Then I could just enjoy adding a few things as I sold them and it wouldn't be so much work. That's the plan anyway....

Told ya so!

It is all gone now, and things are back to normal.

Well, normal as can be.

And....it is all here! At my booth at the Farmer's Market!

Whew....

I plan on taking a lot of my charming things with me to the other shows I do, and to incorporate it into our floor covering store downtown. So, even after the Farmer's Market is over, you can always find a little piece of good luck laying around here somewhere.

My $40 Mini Dougnuts

The other weekend I was shopping in Target, (Shhh....don't tell Walmart!) and my this little red baby caught my eye. I must have been hungry because even though the doughnuts on the doughnut maker didn't really look all that good, I still had to have it. I had visions of little doughnuts like the ones you get at the fair. Into my cart it went. It was only $20 and I thought it would be fun for Landon and the dc kids. When the dc kids arrived that week, I announced we were making doughnuts! Oh, the happy faces. I started to mix up the batter when I realized we were out of sugar. I am not a big baker, so sugar isn't something I always make sure I have. So, I wrote a $10 check and asked Landon to please go to the store and get a bag of sugar. He came back with....

The world's largest freakin' bag of sugar! I honestly don't even know how he got it home, as he was on his scooter. He said that he was keeping my change for a tip. lol

I let him as the sugar was almost that much anyway!

So, once again I got to mixin' up that ol' batter. But, then...I realized we were out of eggs!

Not a baker, not big egg eaters....you get the picture. So, it took another $10 check as Landon was not going to the store without another tip. (To be fair, it was in the 90's that day, and if I was him I wouldn't have even done it for the tips!) And he came back with....

The worlds freakin' largest dozen of eggs! Seriously. I have never bought eggs by the 18 pack. I don't know what he was thinking. Guess he was making sure I had enough and he wouldn't have to go back to the store. Ha! I probably would have done that too at his age.

So, once again I started mixing up the batter. I made a double batch. Mistake. There was enough batter to feed the whole neighborhood! I poured the first batch and it smoked a little bit. Then a lot. Stunk up the house. It was hot and tedious work. When the little light went off and we opened the top up...

We had seven greasy mini doughnuts!

Then we added a little melted chocolate and sprinkles.

Landon in a sugar glazed daze....

Then I continued to cook and cook doughnuts.

Just a few of the 4,344 doughnuts a double batch makes. In conclusion, I do have to say that I will not be making anymore mini doughnuts. It was hot, greasy, messy work. I would much rather wait for the fair and spend my $40 there.When Tim came home, he thought they were great and said he would make them next time.  I bet he only makes them once.  I just bet ya.

fabulous barn! Check out the cool ornaments on the top of it.

Of course I had to turn the car around and take a picture!

Just A Sip...

I am going to show you just a sip of a couple of glasses that will be available at my Lucky Charmed booth at the Wheaton Farmer's Market. (Yes. You will have to come to the market to purchase them!) I will have several other styles and sayings also, but here are two that are really fun! Lucky Charmed will be making it's debut at the Farmer's Market, June 16th from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. for Wheaton's 125th Celebration.(I will have my purses at the market on the 14th, opening day, (From 5 to 7) but L.C. will have to wait until the 16th. I need just a little more time! But, honestly it can't come soon enough as I need to get all this fun stuff out of my house and into yours! (Smile!) So, come on out to the fairgrounds and check out the Market! There is something there for everyone!!

Just A Swingin'

I am sure I have posted somewhere about Landon and his tarzan side. We have a beautiful tree (I know I posted about that!) in our backyard. I love it. Absolutly love it. When Landon was three or four he would take a ladder, place it under the tree, jump off, grab the branches and SWING! Then when he was older/taller, he would use  chair to jump off of, then eventually all he had to do was run, grab and swing!!! Gave me many heart attacks over the years, yes he did. But, I love watching him go now. I even want to try it! But, I'm afraid I'll slip and fall and break something important that I need. So, I just watch. I entered a contest that Erin Martinek (Check out her photography site here: www.erinmartinekphotography.com ) had posted on facebook and won! I won a ton of cool photo stuff. So, I booked our family session. (She did our last family shot....I am embarrassed to say....6 years ago!) I knew I wanted to have the picture taken in front of our old patina'd shed. (I have to paint it this summer and that makes me sad.) I also wanted to do something fun, other than just sit and smile shots. So, I decided to have Tim help me drag our living room couch (He was so happy to do that!) out there and I begged Landon to swing (It only cost me an electric scooter) from the tree. I had it in my head that Tim and I would just sit there while Landon did his thing, but Erin told me to lay down and told Tim where to place his hands and how to hold our heads, etc... and the picture came out GREAT! I am so amazed that she was able to not only get the shot with Landon swinging, but she was able to capture him smiling! The look on his face is pure pleasure. Erin is incredible and has such a sharp eye for detail. She rocks! (She in no way, has asked me to say any of this. This is my opinion entirely!) I only got a sneak peek at this one and we are still waiting to see the others. But, I already know this one is my FAVORITE!!! It is so us. Thank you so much, Erin!!!!
